(Depending on the state…) Part of the bar is the Character Fitness portion. You may not pass this portion, as it is very stringent. You should contact you state bar association.
None. It will probably hold up your bar admission while the ethics panel investigates but it’s not a bar to admission. The bigger issue is that there’s a glut of lawyers and many can’t get any job at all. Moreover, a lot of law jobs are being outsourced to India and US corporations are setting up law departments in India.
