Walter A asked:
I have taken my ASVAB, been through MEPS, and met all of the reqs for enlistment but Im waiting on a waiver for counseling. My next step is DEP. I was celebrating and was pulled over for DUI. My attorney can get it taken down to wet reckless, what does this mean for enlistment? Can I get a waiver? Or am I SOL?

You’re going to need a waiver.
The Coast Guard is the strictest service with letting people in with crimes, I would personally talk to the judge and see it can be dismissed or dealt with on a non-official level–they’re usually sympathetic when they know it will end a military career before it starts.
I’m very surprised the Coast Guard even spoke to you. You should have been turned away at the door. They do not under and circumstances take anyone who has a felony much les a DUI. I also have never heard of a waiver for a DUI so you can enlist. I have also never heard of wet reckless, do not even know what that is.
