I need some serious help quick with my DUI. I think I have a bad lawyer. What should I do?

I recieved a DUI in the state of iowa. I was driving home when I went into a ditch, rolled, and totaled my car. I did not injure anyone or damage any property except my own. The cops came and I blew a 0.12. I went to jail until I blew zeros. I then hired a lawyer who I think is hurting me more than helping me. I have not had to go to court at all. This is my first ever DUI. MY lawyer says I have to spend some time in jail and pay lots of fines. He called me today and said I have to have my GUILTY PLEA in by Tuesday morning (Its Sunday now) or I will have to go purchase prescription drugs without a prescription to court. The only reason i hired him was to keep me out of jail.There was a pre trial that he went too where it was determined I couldnt get out of jail/fines or get a defered judgement.Isnt that harsh for a first offense?What can I do if my plea has to be in so soon?I **** my lawyer cause he treats me so bad personally.What are my options?What should I plea?Too late to switch lawyers?Can I report my bad lawyer to anyone?

Change your attorney, it is never too late just fire him/her. Your case will not proceed without you having a defense lawyer, judge will continue to later date. You may report lawyers to the State Bar Association, you may also sue them if they committed any malpractice.
Yo ushouldnt have gotten a lawyer to begin with unless you are ungodly wealthy and ca nget the kind that buys off judges. you wouldve saved whatever money you gave him and a lot of time by talking w/ the prosecutor yourself and striking a deal. Becasue either way, w/ a BA test, youre screwed no matter what. Hand over your license ,do your classes and AA, and be done w/ it.

Do not plead guilty until you switch lawyers. Find one that you trust first thing Monday morning.
first off look in your local phone directory for a lawyer that specializes in DUI cases. talk to them and get a stay on the court date if possible. secondly if you cant beat the case he will know. then since you are a first offender, most states have an ARD program. for first time offenders where you go to classes and once completed you can start new.jail is ever so rare in first offenses except for the night you were caught and arrested. call a local lawyer and tell you have an emergency case. do not wait. then fire the other lawyer. he is not looking out for your interests, but rather trying to make a fast dollar
The Bar ***. can be tied into your lawyer. As I found these crooked lawyers are all tied together. Probate, bar, the state, chamberofcommerence,. My brother would represent himself and do not talk to none of them! What ever you say they use it against you! Ask the judge- or ask for a new judge and ask him if you do all the neccessary steps rehab. ect will it help you. Or they will just railroad you! Even Legal aid is tied to the crooked lawyers! Represent yourself! Do not talk to a lawyer talk straight to the Judge! Plea no contest-never quilty! Ask the judge to appoint you a lawyer! Or say-no contest. There is no place to report them to, Birds of a feather fly together! -they stick up for each other all the way to the big white house on the hill!

STATE OF IOWA, or any state and you are have to deal with it. do not ever drink and drive, why do you want to ruin your life. My Uncle and cousin a 14 year old beautiful child was killed by a drunk driver…get it together son
