If you can afford a lawyer you are more than likely not going to get a public defender.
You should never go to court without a lawyer.
Don’t bleed for a shark.
Whenever your liberty is at stake, or whenever your permanent record is being opened up in preparation for the insertion of new information about you, you should have the best help you possibly can at your side.
That said, my observation of this process is that it is often just a moneymaker for the state and the attorneys. This process, tho, makes money for them by reducing the charges against you.

Yes, Don’t plead guilty to a judge he will max you out, get a lawyer, if you can’t afford one at least take with a public defender if worse comes to worse plead No Contest.
save ur money, ur going to need it for up coming fees and monetary penalties. good luck.
use a public defender they are pretty good i would just use them if you already decided to plead gulity. why waste your money unless you find another lawyer for less money
If you’re under the age of 21 maybe you can get off on a youthful offender plea so it’ll be dropped from your record when you turn 21.
unless you are looking at six months or more for your offense you have no right to a public attorney
Take it to trial. On trial day they’ll offer you a sweet plea or drop the charges because they won’t spend the dollars to convict you.
