Is it worth getting an attorney if you get a DUI for the 1st time ever. I have a Class A commercial a work as a driver for pepsi. If I do get one can they remove the DUI… I did a day in jail I’m really sorry thankful that I didn’t kill or hurt anyone. I did learn my lesson. Especially because my license is my bread butter..????

YES In the future, don’y drive drunk
Yes. You work for a major corporation. You may lose your license for a while, if they haven’t taken it already (depends on the state and so forth).
If you get a lawyer, he/she may convince the judge to let it slide…if you really mean that you won’t do it again
Hope this helps
I would suggest you get one. this is serious offense that could not only take away your license, which means your job, but they could put you in jail.
Get a good attorney who can discuss with the prosecutor to allow you to keep your license so you can work. More than likley you are headed for AA with reports on a monthly basis back to the court.
ABSOLUTELY GET A LAWYER they may be able to work with the prosecuting attorney but for your own good please get legal aide. Good luck and God Bless
well in the state of alabama if you have cdl or if you are a school bus driver the legal limit is even stricter…im not sure how much a lawyer can save you from but guilty is guilty…i am glad you learned your lesson…here you would lose your license, have to attend educational classes on alcohol, have monthly monitoring, possibly colorcode plus 2 yrs probation, court order to AA or Celebrate Recovery meetings…not to mention fines fines and more fines…i hope it works out for you and i hope it won’t be a black cloud for you but thankfully you have learned from this…
I don’t know where you are but you can call the solictor and schedule an appointment with him. When you do that you’ll ask him about the dui and what you can expect if you enter a plea. You can tell him about your job situation. Maybe he will voluntarily take you to the judge and all 3 of you can discuss it or you can ask to see the judge. If you’re guilty and are going to plea you do not need a lawyer. It has been my experience that both the judge and the solictor will bend over backwards to help you any way they can and you can do all of this in the judges chambers and avoid the embarrassment of appearing in court. Don’t wait till the day before court. Go now so you’ll have time to make a thought out decision.
Yes and make sure that you get a good lawyer that handles DUI cases.
