What are the benefits to getting a DUI attorney if your BAC is beyond a level where the courts will reduce?

Also a point that might be worth mentioning, when he was pulled over, he requested a seargant come to the scene and was denied the request. Is there any merit to this and does he have any recourse if he does pursue with an attorney?
I have sat in on hundreds of DUI cases. From my experience, the most successful way of beating a DUI has nothing to do with the BAC.
Contesting the reason for the stop is the most effective way. If the officer did not have a legal reason to pull you over, all the evidence from the stop will be inadmissible by The Exclusionary Rule (also known as the Fruit of the Poisonous Tree Doctrine).
As far as requesting a supervisor, that will make no difference on the charges. It may get the officer in some hot water if he violated policy, but will not get the case dismissed.
Most attorneys offer a free consultation. He could always run it by one to see what he thinks.
he does not get to request a seargant, thats like picking what cop you want to arrest you. But lawyers are great at getting guilty people off, so a lawyer would be his best bet but they do not come cheap
An attorney is there to protect your rights. Because of the seriousness of the charge, you don’t have a choice. The court will not allow you to defend yourself. A supervisor does not have to go to the scene just because a driver requests one.
